The moment you start dragging the icon, there in the bottom of the screen will be shown an "bin" icon. Just drag the icon to that portion and release it. The icon is now removed.
You may now wonder, won't that affect the program? No, it doesn't. When you delete a shortcut icon from your computer home screen, does it have any effect to the program? No.
