It's really annoying when your email, you IM and even your personal forum is filled with spams. Here today I am posting some methods to avoid spam flooding your email. Here are the methods and mind you, these methods are effective and are used even by top 10 software companies in India and elsewhere too.
Masking your e-mail address
The most common way to keep away spam from your email is to mask your email. By masking your email means the putting of a word or phrase in your email address so that it will bluff harvesting computer programs but not human. As for instance your email is “marktwain@jingle.com” you may mask it as “marktwain@spamaway.jingle.com”
Using a Pseudonym During Chat
If you are someone who use chat rooms for chatting, make sure that you use a different name which is not related with your email address. This will not allow spammers to know your email address while chatting.
Use Disposable Email Addresses
This is a method used by even the top software company, it is also considered one of the most effective ways to keep away spam. Use disposable email service that allow you to create separate email addresses but forwards the mails to your permanent account. If any of the the addresses you created starts receiving spam you can get rid of that address. This will not affect your permanent account.
Use Unique Email address
By unique email address, I mean to say that the email you will be using in public should contain both letters and numbers. This will stop those spammers who use “dictionary attacks”, a way to email to all name combinations within a large email service.
If you follow the above methods of avoiding spam, you will considerable reduce the amount of spam flooding in your email or even put a stop to it.
