Random Writings: Are you wondering why I'm 24/7 on Facebook?

Random Writings: Are you wondering why I'm 24/7 on Facebook?

If you think I'm jobless, you are wrong. I do part of my work on Facebook. I am a content writer who now do Search Engine Optimization too. Now you might be wondering what Search Engine Optimization is. Let me clear your doubt.
Search Engine Optimization a.k.a SEO
As the name suggests, it has go to do with Search Engines. Do I need to tell you what Search Engines are? Yeah yeah!! Yahoo, Google, Bing, etc. are search engines. Companies, businesses nowadays try to get themselves listed on the first SERP (Search Engine Results Page) when someone types in a keyword and hit SEARCH. In this way they promote their services and products by targeting people who look for such services or products online. The more your site is visited by people worldwide, higher are the chances of bringing your site up in the SERP.
I do the same for the company I work for. It is a software development company that provides almost all types of software solutions, don't ask me what. I promote its business on Facebook, Twitter, Linked and whatever social networking sites available (exaggerated).
Is this enough to justify my reason for being online on Facebook and Twitter 24/7? If you still have questions, comment on it. I'll be all fingers to clear your doubts.
Ain't my JOB cool??

Facebook and Online Branding of Your Business – Part 5

Here's yet another tip on how to brand your business on Facebook and that is the approach of “Offering your Facebook fans something that they wouldn't get anywhere”

Here's how you do it. If you own an online business or an online store, you can give your fans something that they will not get anywhere. Online contests with attractive winner's prize can get the attention of some customers but not all. If you are offering something which everyone is guaranteed of, gaining attention is not a problem. Such can be in the form of:
  • No shipping charges for Facebook fans
  • A special promotional gift to Facebook fans
  • Special product coupon for fans, etc.

Many companies has gained loyal customers through this approach and the more the loyal customers is, the greater is its popularity in the online world and offline too. Say, you own a software development company that deals with specially with Android application development, you can provide special offers to your Facebook fans related to the same.

Facebook and Online Branding of Your Business – Part 4

One effective way of Branding online is engaging new visitors on your Facebook Fan Page. How can you do that so that it creates maximum impact on your business? Read on to know about that.

Facebook fan page walls as you know can be a very valuable tool for interacting with customers and other prospects. However, fan pages walls can be intimidating and confusing for first time visitors. Put yourself in one situation where you are entering a room filled with people who knows each other by name and are talking about things that you know nothing about. There's nothing more awkward than that.

Therefore, instead of sending your visitors directly to your fan page's wall, you can direct them to a customized page that welcomes new fans and provide them with useful information about your brand or company. This page should also be able to make visitors become your loyal customers.

As for instance, Oglacs Software Pvt. Ltd. - A software development company based in India providing high-end software solutions to companies worldwide and renowned for Android Application Development services. This gives first visitors a clear idea about what the company is about and what does it specialize in. You can even put up a video that presents services and aims of the company.

2. Choose the perfect category that relates to your business. If your business is a software development company, you may choose the Company, Organization or Institution Category.
3. Once you click on the category, you'll be given a form to provide your business' name. Write the name of your business there.

Controlling Google+ Main Incoming Stream

Google+ was expected to meet head on with Facebook and due to that you may have joined long before via invitation from friends. There is no doubt that Google came up with new features so that it may compete with Facebook but this doesn’t happened so. Even though it does, it will take a little more time. For users is busy getting to know the functionality of the social networking site. Keeping that in view, I have today written about how to control Google+ main incoming stream. Check it out.

Now that you have followed a lot of people, created circles based on your own category, you may find yourself in a situation that you get frustrated that your stream gets flooded and missed the chance of reading a particular post you wanted to read immediately, say posts by your favorite software development company.

Now what you look for is a better way to control your main stream. You don’t have to worry for that. Google+ comes with a built in main stream filter that gives users the option of controlling stream of the circle of their choice in the main stream. There is also another option of selecting a particular circle on the left sidebar and never miss all content shared by that circle without filtering.

There are four ways you can filter your main stream.

Filter Stream Show Nothing: This setting allows showing few things randomly from a circle.

Filter stream show fewer content: This particular setting which is the default setting allows showing the most stream from a circle.

Filter stream show most content: This filter setting allows showing everything from a circle.

Filter stream show every contents:

And here is how you configure stream filter.
·         Login to Google+
·         Click on a circle name on the left sidebar
·         You’ll find a slide bar on the middle panel on the right side of the circle name. Set the slide bar according to your preference.
·         Repeat this for every circle you would like to customize.

This is how you control your Google+ incoming main stream. For more tips and tricks, visit back.

Facebook Timeline

Here’s yet another change Facebook made to itself. How many times has it changed its UI? This is one nobody knows. Does this impact Facebook? Does it create a positive impact or a negative? If this will be one survey, one section of Facebook user will be okay with it but another section may feel quite frustrated.

Those lots who are okay with all internet things and who are eager to see new things and learn new things, they will feel the change is something they love. But to those who usually visit the social networking site less often will feel the change to be confusing for they are going to start all over again.
Facebook Timeline however is different, users have the choice to either sign up for it or not. In my opinion, Facebook Timeline is wonderful. The reason why I love it is because of the feature that allows us to see everything since we joined Facebook till today. Now, you may be worried about your privacy. This is also not an issue, like before you can control what your friends or an individual sees on your wall.

People who are not accustomed to frequent changes in Facebook may not like it but I, being one who works in a software development company, loved it a lot.
I know there’s lot more with the new change so I’m now busy exploring new things. You may visit the blog later to get to know more. You may also visit the Facebook Blog.
