Controlling Google+ Main Incoming Stream

Google+ was expected to meet head on with Facebook and due to that you may have joined long before via invitation from friends. There is no doubt that Google came up with new features so that it may compete with Facebook but this doesn’t happened so. Even though it does, it will take a little more time. Now that you have followed a lot of people, created circles based on your own category, you may find yourself in a situation that you get frustrated that your stream gets flooded and missed the chance of reading a particular post you wanted to read immediately, say posts by your favorite software development company.

Now what you look for is a better way to control your main stream. You don’t have to worry for that. Google+ comes with a built in main stream filter that gives users the option of controlling stream of the circle of their choice in the main stream. There is also another option of selecting a particular circle on the left sidebar and never miss all content shared by that circle without filtering.

There are four ways you can filter your main stream.

Filter Stream Show Nothing: This setting allows showing few things randomly from a circle.

Filter stream show fewer content: This particular setting which is the default setting allows showing the most stream from a circle.

Filter stream show most content: This filter setting allows showing everything from a circle.

·         Login to Google+

·         Click on a circle name on the left sidebar

·         You’ll find a slide bar on the middle panel on the right side of the circle name. Set the slide bar according to your preference.

·         Repeat this for every circle you would like to customize.
