Most of us nowadays thinks that downloading stuffs online is the coolest way. But a fact one should know is that when we are doing that, we are putting risk on our computer from getting infected by virus which comes with downloadable files. These files can be of any form. It can be a document attached in an email, banners, advertisements, music, torrent, etc. and even from those online dating personals you come across dating site. Therefore, one should be careful while downloading anything online or exchanging links.
Being one blogger amongst the many software engineers here in Oglacs, one of the top 10 software companies in India, I would like to suggest everyone that they should install an antivirus software and get it updated frequently. Set the risk or virus attack notifier of the software so that you may be notified of any virus, malware or spyware.
Now coming to torrent, why would anyone would like to buy movies CD when they are available online for free. What happens with torrent is that these files are being shared via an uploader then seeders. If the uploader is up to some mischief, he might have put malicious program along with the movies, music or pictures you are about to download.
Sharing file using a pen drive is also risky. Say if you have a system without an anti-virus software installed or haven't been updated for days, you are risking your computer when you are transferring any file from a friend's computer which is infected.
You may have doubts, “How can I be so sure?”. The thing is that, I'm sharing the little things I know since the day I started working in Oglacs, the topsoftware company I have ever worked. Virus infection on your computer can be due to many sources. So check your PC for infection, install antivirus software, run a full system scan and remove the viruses.
